Sam Hartman is best known for two things: Playing quarterback and sporting perhaps the best hair in college football.
The Notre Dame quarterback took his talents to the professional stage on Saturday at the scouting combine in Indianapolis, where his flowing locks became the subject of discussion on the NFL Network broadcast.
“I feel like I’m watching the opening of Braveheart here,” analyst Daniel Jeremiah said when the broadcast showed a slow-motion clip of Hartman running the 40-yard dash.
The moment you've been waiting for.

The slow-motion replay did not disappoint.
Hartman, who played five seasons at Wake Forest from 2018 to ‘22 and spent the ‘23 campaign with the Fighting Irish, is projected to be a late-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
The 24-year-old threw for 2,689 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 12 games last season while guiding Notre Dame to a 10–3 record.
Hartman was officially clocked at 4.80 seconds in the 40-yard dash on Saturday.
Since he was the only quarterback to participate in that combine event, Hartman technically can claim he posted the fastest 40-yard dash time among signal-callers in 2024.
All thanks to his trademarked hair, of course.
